At Taurix IT, we care a lot about privacy, both for end-users and companies.  We offer secure communication systems as well as private cloud solutions.

But our very ability to offer these solutions hangs in the balance as the technology that underlies them is being targetted by the EU.

This may sound a bit dramatic, but it is really as bad as it sounds. This should be a headline on every major newssite but for some reason it is not.

The EU is gearing up to launch the biggest mass surveillance law ever. It would go as far or furhter then even demonized regimes like Russia or China do and if they pass, it means the end of all end to end encryption in the EU, not just mandated backdoors for big operators, but even peer to peer messengers would become a target.

You can read the actual law here.

This is worse then the illegal mass surveillance in the US that Snowden exposed, this is worse then Chatcontrol or EU protect. If this passes, the end to end protection of our messages is done, privacy is done. Signal, SimpleX, Element and even WhatsApp will all either have to drop end to end protection or face prosecution.

It cannot be stressed enough that it is IMPOSSIBLE to have so called ‘lawful’ access to message data without opening a huge crater that can be used by other parties as well.

In short, this  needs to be stopped both to protect people from government overreach as well as from any criminals targetting their data.
